Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a famous American actress and television personality. Her fan base is large throughout America and across the world due to her performance as the an actress in the TV Series 'The Closer.' Sedgwick's interest in performing arts, Broadway and acting began when she was just 12 years young. She was introduced to Broadway through her mother who had an interest in the field. Sedgwick was offered her first professional part at 16 in the TV show "Another world". Her initial TV appearances were not big, however she was much more attracted to becoming an established actress. Her debut big screen performance was in the movie "Born on the Fourth of July, where she was co-starring with Tom Cruise. Sedgwick's popularity in this film was the reason she got roles in other movies such as 'Heart and Souls, "Phenomenon," etc. She worked in a TV film called 'Lemon sky and met the actor and husband of her Kevin Bacon and got married to him in the age of just 22. Sedgwick's effortless performance in The Closer's seven-season drama" earned her numerous awards which included an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
